Citron
The Dubai school classic. Stainless compartments, easy for small hands, and it fits the bags most children already carry. Start here if you want one you can actually buy tomorrow.
Stainless steel, less plastic. The ones we would pack for a UAE school bag.
Back to school in Dubai means a lunch bag that lives in the heat, the bus, and a small locker. We like stainless steel. Less plastic touching the food. Check the size against your lunch bag before you buy. Some of these are bigger than the usual plastic boxes.
These are the ones we would recommend. From our home in the UAE.
Stainless steel first. A few with silicone lids for dips. Citron is the one you see in most Dubai classrooms.

A true bento. Little rooms for fruit, something savoury, a dip. No plastic on the food. Measure it against your bag. It is larger than it looks.

A simple stainless box with a lid that comes off in one move. Good for dry lunches. Yoghurt and sauces need their own little pot.

Bigger than many bentos. A moveable silicone insert so you can change the layout. Useful when the lunch is not always the same shape.

The thermos inside is stainless steel, so pasta or soup can stay warm until lunch. The outer box is not all metal. We still like it for Dubai winters, and for children who will not eat a cold lunch.

An open stainless box with a silicone insert and a divider you can slide. Spill-resistant, not magic. Good for sandwiches and cut fruit.

A smaller stainless box for the first years of school. Simple lid. Easy to wash. Good when the lunch is still small.
Stainless, with as little plastic on the sip as you can manage. The AC is cold. The playground is not.

The one that still has ice at pickup. Easy to find in the UAE. Choose a lid your child can open without a teacher.

Heavy in a good way. Survives the bottom of a school bag. Same idea: stainless, cold water, less plastic.

If the lunch box is Citron, the bottle often is too. It fits the same bag. That small matching trick saves mornings.

A stainless bottle with lids you can swap. The athletic top is useful once they are older and running around after school.

Stainless with silicone sleeves. A gentle step up from a sippy cup, before the big flask.

A classic stainless bottle. Narrow enough for small hands. The sport cap is useful once they can drink without a straw.

Another flask that holds the cold through a Dubai school day. Pick a size they can lift. The giant ones belong on a desk, not in a Year 1 bag.
